Band Naum
Married
Naum Band, known affectionately as “Sito” by his family and friends, was 55 years old and worked in security at AMIA. A sociable and talkative man, he enjoyed sharing mate and had started a family with Dora, who also worked at AMIA, raising two sons, Martin and Marcelo. Marcelo, the eldest, was studying in the U.S., and visiting him there was a family dream. On July 18, 1994, Sito left for work around 9:15-9:30 a.m., walking thirteen blocks to AMIA, planning to start his shift at 10 a.m. He intended to retrieve an invoice from Dora’s office on the second floor. However, at 9:53 a.m., a car bomb exploded at the AMIA building, tragically ending his life. Dora survived the bombing and continued working at AMIA until her retirement, becoming part of the group of surviving victims.
